TruMile ("the App") is developed by Amalama Labs ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use TruMile.

Information We Collect

Location Data

TruMile collects precise location data to track your trips and calculate mileage. This includes:

• GPS coordinates during active trip tracking
• Background location data when automatic trip detection is enabled
• Start and end locations of your trips

Location data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your private iCloud account if you enable iCloud sync.

Trip and Vehicle Information

Information you enter manually, including:

• Vehicle details (make, model, year)
• Trip purposes and classifications (business, personal, medical, charitable)
• Fuel purchases and maintenance records
• Notes and custom categories

Subscription Information

If you subscribe to TruMile Premium, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. We receive only:

• Confirmation of active subscription status
• Subscription type (monthly, yearly, or lifetime)

Diagnostics

We collect anonymized diagnostic data to improve app stability and performance:

• Crash logs and error reports
• App performance metrics (launch time, responsiveness)

This data is not linked to your identity and is used solely to fix bugs and improve the app.

Usage Analytics

We collect anonymized product interaction data to understand how features are used and improve the app experience. This includes screen views and feature usage patterns. This data is not linked to your identity.

Customer Support

If you contact us for support, we may collect your name, email address, and any information you provide in your message. This data is used only to respond to your inquiry.

How We Use Your Information

Your data is used to provide and improve app functionality:

• Calculate trip distances and mileage deductions
• Generate mileage reports for tax purposes
• Track fuel efficiency and vehicle expenses
• Sync your data across your Apple devices (if enabled)
• Diagnose crashes and improve app performance
• Understand feature usage to improve the app experience
• Respond to customer support requests

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored:

• On your device: All trip and vehicle data is stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework
• In iCloud (optional): If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your private iCloud account, protected by your Apple ID

We do not operate external servers that store your personal data. Your information never leaves Apple's ecosystem.

Data Sharing

We share data only in these limited circumstances:

• RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. They receive anonymous identifiers to track subscription status but no personal information or location data. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• Apple: If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in Apple's iCloud service under your account.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law.

Your Rights and Choices

Location Permissions

You control location access through iOS Settings. You can:

• Disable location access entirely (manual trip entry still works)
• Allow location only while using the app
• Allow background location for automatic trip detection

Data Deletion

You can delete your data at any time:

• Delete individual trips, vehicles, or records within the app
• Delete all app data by uninstalling TruMile
• Request complete data deletion by contacting us

Data Export

You can export your trip data as PDF reports from within the app.

Children's Privacy

TruMile is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, through the app.
